Help: Dragon Pattern #382

This Dragon charm, with its charming small size and uneven edges, can be quite challenging to weave. I wanted to share how I began this project.

I started with a two-row foundation, which is marked as "1" and "2" on your PDF pattern. Below, I’ve outlined the steps to create these first two rows.
  • Pick up three beads to start - two black and one green. Continue adding one bead at a time to finish up the two rows.
  • I leave a long thread tail to stitch the opposite side of the beadwork.
  • The solid red line and blue dashed line represent the thread path.
  • Add the last two beads on Row 2 (green and red) with the ladder stitch.
  • I passed my needle back down and exited from the last green bead on Row 1.
  • Add the red bead. This bead will sit with the holes in the opposite direction.
  • Weave through the beads and exit from the last red bead on Row 2 - black arrow.
  • Stitch the face.
  • Add a needle to the thread tail and stitch the other side of the dragon.

This is just a suggestion for those seeking guidance. There is no right or wrong way to bead your project—it's all about having fun. Do what feels most comfortable for you.
